The S.A.F.E Documentation support system
This comprehensive set of manuals were written for all individuals
at any level of the enterprise to systematically and comprehensively
assess and measure current occupational health and safety
performance and start to make plans to make improvements in
the areas identified to be weakest.
The system has literally hundreds of pages of hands-on occupational
health and safety management information-everything an individual
needs to audit any workplace environment and to start to develop
action plans for future improvement. In specific terms, the
documentation support system contains the following:
S.A.F.E. Audit category pages
The S.A.F.E. system provides an outline description of each
of the ten categories in the total framework. Within each
category, each area of audit focus contains full explanatory
notes, examples of audit verification and space to write physical
audit notes.
Managing S.A.F.E.
Whether a S.A.F.E. audit team is small or large, every serving
individual needs to be able to manage their part of the audit
process successfully, demonstrate teamwork, communicate effectively,
plan improvement actions and projects and demonstrate many
other skills. The S.A.F.E. system is unique in offering extensive
support to the audit team in making sure that they can progressively
build their management and interpersonal skills in order to
maximise their chances of overall program success.
S.A.F.E. forms, procedures, templates
and checklists
A common and early audit team shortfall is a lack of OH&
S process documentation. The S.A.F.E. system contains an extensive
library of OH& S forms, procedures, templates and checklists
that can be used in their entirety or adapted as much as necessary.
Measuring S.A.F.E.
Any data gathering, audit or assessment system must ultimately
result in some kind of measurement process being applied.
The S.A.F.E. system provides a specific measurement process
for all three levels of OH& S performance (bronze, silver
and gold level)
S.A.F.E. background articles
The S.A.F.E. system offers a wide range of OH& S articles
from around the world to help individuals at all levels to
achieve quick access to the best and latest thinking on the
subject. These articles are entirely searchable on-line and
are added to on a regular basis.
S.A.F.E. Action/Intervention Workbooks
Apart from the comprehensive three-ring binder packages,
and audit support workbooks, the S.A.F.E. system also has
a series of five stand-alone workbooks for use by individuals
and teams when they are looking for particular ideas to improve
OH&S in their workplace situation. These workbook titles
are:
For each cluster (and the two categories of the audit system
underneath) these booklets provide suggested actions that
can be taken at enterprise wide team or individual level.
