It is inevitable from time to time that an individuals ability and the role that they
are expected to perform gets out of sync or becomes mismatched. In simple terms, the individual may outgrow their job, or
the job may outgrow the individual. In such cases, both the job holder and the organization needs a rigorous
mechanism to measure this mis-match and perhaps help to point the way to a future solution.
By completing one or perhaps several assessments, individuals can learn more about their
strengths and weaknesses or development needs. This will paint a more realistic picture of how they are doing in
their current role
and provides some useful clues about roles to which they may be better suited in the future - these roles may be
within the organization (internal transfers to other jobs and other departments) or transitions to entirely new
job roles in an entirely new organization.
