When individuals or organizations face significant
situations or challenges, one of their first priorities is to
understand the issues involved and to work out quickly what
needs to be done. In many cases, we do not need any formal
assistance to help this process, we can usually think our way through
the steps that seem to be most appropriate. However, on occasions
the issues or the problems may not be entirely clear and a
structured approach can help considerably.
To meet this need, Team Publications has
a suite of simple and easy-to-use but comprehensive diagnostic
instruments and assessment profiles to help people to understand
their own skills or the situations they face more effectively.
These instruments fall into three categories as shown in the
diagram below. A range of instruments is therefore available
in all of these areas:
- Instruments that measure the person
or the individual are concerned with competency. As such
these profiles tend to be histogram output focused and
look to provide participants with an inventory of their
relative skills in a number of sub categories within each
topic.
- Instruments that measure the team's
or organization's performance as a whole (usually relative
to the individual's perception of their own performance
or level of competence).
- Instruments that help to measure a particular
task or situation In which the style that is adopted or
it utilized by the individual or others is important to
understand.
In most cases, instruments have comprehensive
interpretation notes to explain the underpinning structure
of the profile and to help facilitators to provide structured
feedback. Our flagship leadership instrument, as well as person
and organization instruments also have detailed coaching guides
which provide practical "how to" tips on every single
question in the relevant profile.
