The consumer services division of a large
telecommunications organization knew it was about to undergo major changes in the
next 12-month period and wanted to prepare its supervisors
and managers so they would be able to better handle change at a personal
level and help make the process for all employees as positive
and successfull as possible.
It was decided that all 250 supervisors
and managers would participate in a one-day change management
workshop (designed by profiles-r-us.com sister company Team
Publications). Before each course, participants were asked to complete
a full 360-degree change management effectiveness profile
on the Internet site (getting their boss and five colleagues
to rate them).
All the workshops were well received and
helped managers to plan for the upcoming changes and to learn
more about their own potential or likely strengths and development
needs during the process. As a later consequence, all of the
senior managers continued to use the change management effectiveness
profile as a 180-degree assessment (as part of their normal
performance development system).
