Council Organization
The Mayor of a large city council organization
(with over 6000 municipal employees) was looking to encourage their
whole team of elected counselors to realistically review their
leadership strengths and development needs (individually
as well as collectively).
The Mayor and his team chose to use the
leadership effectiveness profile as a full 360-degree feedback process
inviting elected council colleagues, council executive and
party members to act as leadership questionnaire raters. Because
not everyone had access to the Internet, profiles-r-us.com
fed paper questionnaires into the website system as a bureau
service and mailed reports back to participating counselors.
Results were reviewed by each individual
counselor and one-to-one coaching and follow up development
planning took place. In addition, a collective group report
was created and the results discussed at a special meeting of the city council.
The team not only had a rich array of data upon which
to base their future improvement actions as a team, but could
readily see areas of common development need (and put plans
in place to deal with these through further coaching, training
and other means).
