Introduction

Welcome to the Interviewing Style Assessment.

Instruments which take a "Situational" perspective generally use a four quadrant grid format to help an individual to determine which style he or she seems to favor the most, once known the person can access how readily he or she may be able to "flex" into their styles in order to match the different circumstances or "Situations" that may be encounted on a day to day basis.

Interviewing Style Assessment

The Interviewing Style Assessment is a simple instrument to help determine your interviewing style and then learn how to “flex” this to get the most from the people that you interview.

To do this the assessment describes four very different interview styles that must be matched with interviewee readiness to respond most appropriately. These are Informing, Persuading, Exploring and Enabling styles (used at different times during an interview).

This instrument gives individuals 12 interviewing response scenarios, with four alternatives from which to choose.

By then using the extensive background and interpretive notes, individuals can plan to adjust their style to incorporate all four quadrants of the grid when conducting future interviews (helping to get the most from these short and highly focused discussions).
